This 1974 Dodge Charger is a that has been refurbished and modernized with a custom Purple Metallic repaint over a reupholstered vinyl interior, offset by a set of aluminum wheels and low-profile performance tires. Under the hood, the 383ci V8 is outfitted with an Edelbrock carburetor and sends power to the rear through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Finished with custom black striping and a black vinyl interior with air conditioning, this third-generation Charger is now offered with restoration documentation and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The third-generation Charger rides on Chrysler’s B-platform and launched in 1971 with a variety of trim packages and cosmetic combinations. For 1973, the quarter windows became larger, the taillights received vertical slats, hidden headlights were dropped, and 5-mph bumpers were added. This Charger from the subsequent year was subject to a restoration and received a repaint in Purple Metallic with accenting black side stripes. The exterior features a black vinyl half-roof, badging on the sail panel, an integrated rear spoiler, and dual polished exhaust outlets at the rear. Brightwork is in featured for the grille, window surrounds, driver sideview mirror, door handles, and rear bumper with guards.
Aluminum five-spoke wheels with polished lips are mounted to low-profile tires with good tread remaining.
The interior is upholstered in all-black, with a vinyl bench seat that is color-matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. The cabin is accented in woodgrain veneer for the dash and steering wheel. An air conditioning system is equipped that is said to perform well per the seller.
Instrumentation includes a factory-issued sweeping 120-mph speedometer as well as accompanying gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. There is an additional aftermarket gauge located beneath the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 32k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 383ci V8 features a Mopar Performance air cleaner and valve covers, a Holley carburetor, and a replacement water pump. According to the seller, the car was subject to a mechanical inspection recently and was found to be of sound driving condition. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission and a column-mounted gear selector.
Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
The sale includes restoration documentation.
